Mami Kawada on Misawa Sachika's song

Another job as lyricist was again granted onto Mami Kawada. This time, she wrote a song for Misawa Sachika's upcoming first mini album Polaris, slated for release this February 20, 2013 under Warner Home Video. Unsurprisingly, 4 out of 6 tracks in the album will be I've-produced. All songs in this album will then be used in the upcoming To Aru Majutsu no Index -Endymion no Kiseki- film. [Single Review] Restart by KOTOKO

Restart is KOTOKO's 19th single released this December 19, 2012 under Geneon Universal Entertainment. The titular track was used as the opening theme for Bushiroad's iPhone/Android game called Renai Replay, while the B-side was used as the ending theme. 

After releasing two singles and an album under Warner Home Video, KOTOKO now released a new single under her previous label Geneon. And this seemingly one-time comeback also merited another collaboration with the I've Sound producers, as one would expect. So, I've fans, to rejoice or not?

Here goes a personal post.

So, I asked my sister to draw me a portrait of Mami Kawada. And she did. Here it is.

It was her first time on portraiture, but this one turned out quite well. I was happy to see the result. And then I decided to tweet Mami herself and show her this photo. I was not expecting a reply that much since my past attempts to get a reply from her were all in vain. But... this time was different. I got a reply from her! 

 

Which I automatically favorited and retweeted, of course (yes yes, my Twitter username is kawadaholic). This made my day, and made me really happy. I never knew receiving a reply tweet from your idol could be this fulfilling and euphoric. And with that, I asked my sister again for more Mami Kawada portraits. So, tune in for more of her portraits!

Visual Art's 20th Anniversary Live Event Blu-ray Release

Visual Art's 20th anniversary live event, held this July 29, 2012 at Yokohama Arena, will be released as a two-disk blu-ray this January 29, 2013. The release will be called Visual Art's 20th LIVE 2012 in YOKOHAMA ARENA ~kimi to kanaderu ashita e no uta~. Disc 1 will feature I've Sound's part of the concert, and disc 2 will be for Key Sounds Label's part.

KOTOKO's Sakura Mau Saka wo, Kimi to Aruku was used as the opening theme for tone works' eroge Hatsukoi 1/1. The ending theme, Ashiato ~a Happiness Marker~, was then sung by Mami Kawada. The eroge, along with the songs, was released this June 29, 2012.

Another KOTOKO x Mami Kawada tandem? Great. Once again, the biggest stars produced by I've collide for this special eroge in commemoration of Visual Art's 20th anniversary. Was this reunion any good?

Girl Power!

Aside from Mami Kawada's debut on Animelo Summer Live, apparently, there was another first time experience for our dear utahime. What that is? To perform with an all-girl back-up band. This band performed with Mami in her anisama debut this August 25, 2012.

And now, to introduce the members of this all-girl band.

That's Rie (lead guitar) on the far left, followed by Mami, Minori (bass), and Mizuki (drums).

Mami is going to perform with this band on her upcoming SQUARE THE CIRCLE Live Tour 2012. Other fun facts on Mami's performance in anisama includes Mami herself playing the guitar yet again. It should be noted that she did the same for the first time in her Shibuya one-man live this 2011.

Lastly, cosplayers, I mean dancers clothed like the students from Academy City (To Aru Majutsu no Index) backed Mami up in her No buts! performance.

I've Sound released two best compilations this June 29, 2012. G.C. Best I've GIRL'S COMPILATION BEST contained 25 songs picked from 117 songs released on the past seven I've Girls compilations. Omaira BEST SHORT CIRCUIT BEST CD contained 13 songs picked from the 41 songs released on the past three Short Circuit CDs. Both compilations featured a new song each. Were these compilations worthy of being called the best?
