Look at those photocards! Ooohlala! Of course there's the ever elegant Mami Kawada, the cool, badass RIE, the tough-girl MIZUKI and her signature hairstyle, and the childish-looking MINORI. With those four pretty girls up at the stage, who would ask for more? I really do commend and applaud Mami herself or anyone who came up with the idea of an all-girl backup band. Two thumbs up! And more power to Mami and her band!

[Album Review] MAMI KAWADA BEST -BIRTH-

Mami Kawada released a best-of album called MAMI KAWADA BEST -BIRTH- this February 13, 2013, under Geneon Universal Entertainment. The album contains all the A-sides of twelve of her singles, plus a new recording version of her debut song Kaze to Kimi wo Daite, one other eroge song, an old anime song, and a new titular track, for a total of 16 songs.

It was probably about time for Mami Kawada to release a best-of album. With more than 11 years in the music industry, she has undoubtedly created for herself a discography of songs of high caliber and diversity. Did the fans bite on this release though?

[Single Review] FIXED STAR by Mami Kawada

FIXED STAR is Mami Kawada's 13th single released this February 20, 2013 under Geneon Universal Entertainment. The single is a double A side single, with the titular track used as the ending theme for To Aru Majutsu no Index: Endymion no Kiseki film, and the coupling track as the theme song for a PS Vita game called Meikyuu Cross Blood Infinity. 

As her third tie-up with the To Aru Majutsu no Index series, FIXED STAR is expected to be as good, if not better, than its top-notch predecessors. Chances of comparison are apparently there. Did it succumb to harsh juxtapositions? Or did it still manage to stand out?

Please! 10th Anniversary Final Event

Mami Kawada and KOTOKO are set to participate in a final live event in commemoration of the Onegai! Series tenth anniversary. Here are the details:

LisAni! TV Debut

This March 2013, Mami Kawada debuted at LisAni! TV, a weekly TV show featuring different anison artists. Mami appeared on two separate episodes of the show, both in line with the release of her best-of album MAMI KAWADA BEST -BIRTH-. Here are the specifics:

BIRTH LIVE -ONE NIGHT POWERBOMB!- GOODS

Live event goods for MAMI KAWADA BIRTH LIVE -ONE NIGHT POWERBOMB!- are now up at a special site dedicated solely for this event. Here are the yummy goodies: a shirt, a sports towel, and a very special guitar pick set of four, personally signed by Mami herself and her band members!

Apart from those, the live event will also be selling a CD containing a re-arranged version of Mami Kawada's old song CARPE DIEM. Remember that this song was originally released on a pamphlet CD at the SEED Live Tour event way back in 2006, and may be considered a special song since this is the very first song Mami co-composed herself, along with Tomoyuki Nakazawa.

Apart from that, the CD also comes with a set of six photocards featuring Mami and her all-girl band. Now that would be interesting to see, isn't it?
